Devotion-3: “The Lord Is Good Unto Them That Wait For Him” By Soji Samson, Doha

“The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.  It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord” Lamentation 3:25

The scripture encourages us to wait upon the Lord and the Lord honors them in every situation they are in. In 1 Kings 18:36, it was the hours Elijah communed with God that brought fire from the heaven.  In Daniel 6:10, when Daniel learned that decree had been published against him, he went to the upper room in his house and he got down on his knees and prayed as he had done before.  This shows that Daniel had the practice of spending time with God.  He is a kneeling Christian.  Kneeling Christian is a powerful Christian and no decree can touch his life.  In Acts 2:1, It was the hours the disciples spent in upper room waiting upon the Lord which enabled them to preach gospel boldly and 3000 got saved.  In Acts 16:25,   Paul and Silas spent time in worshipping with the Lord when they were in Jail.  Earthquake shook the foundation of the Jail and all the prison doors were opened at once.

If you want to be a history maker for His glory, spend time with Him. Prayer can change any situation in our life. Prayer can bring fire from heaven in any crisis of our life.  Spurgeon became a great preacher after he spent long hours in prayer.  “The prayer offered to God in the morning during your quiet time is the key that unlocks the door of the day. Any athlete knows that it is the start that ensures a good finish.”  Adrian Rogers
