“In all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” Romans 8:37
Our life in this world is full of trials and obstacles and we want to take victory over it. We have to struggle to win the battle of overcoming these challenges and will find any means of the world to fight the battle. The scripture says we are more than conquerors in Jesus Christ. What does ‘conqueror’ mean? It means we can overcome all the problems that come on our way through Christ. In our situations, God promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. This shows that we should have a strong relationship with God and we should grow in our personal relationship with Christ. We need a divine energy which comes from the Almighty God because our battle is against the power of dark world. In 1 John 10:27-29, Father said none will snatch my sheep out of my hand. We have a mighty father who fights for us. God’s children can approach the darkest valleys with confidence (Psa 23:4). Apostle Paul had gone through many sufferings for God. He struggled hard to see God’s love in his life. At times, it is very difficult for us to reconcile God’s perfect love with His perfect timing. After all these sufferings he said, ‘’Who can separate us from the love of Christ?’’
Even Joseph had many distressing circumstances in his life. After the heavenly vision he had, the situations in his life changed. He became a slave in Potipar’s house, a prisoner, temptation of Potiphar’s wife and her false accusation. Irrespective of these sufferings in Joseph’s life, his relationship with God was growing and that brought abundant blessing of God in his life. The king, who put him in the jail, made him the prime minister of the land. His brothers, who put him in a dry well in the desert and sold him to Egyptian merchants, came to Joseph when there was a great famine in the land. Joseph prospered wherever he went because God was with him. Joseph took victory in every adverse situation of his life because God was in charge of his life.
From Joseph’s life we learn that by remaining faithful to God, we can be confident that we are more than conquerors in Jesus Christ. Jesus loves us unconditionally. We don’t have to be tormented by doubts and fears in our life. God loves us and he has a greater purpose for our lives in our crisis. “Be still and know that I am the Lord” (Psalms 46:10). We need to be patient and still in our crisis. He will fight for us if we are obedient to the word of God. “No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted” Orson F Whitney.
